What surprised me in Week 4 is that SAP ERP software holds 44% market share.

We use Oracle at my workplace. I researched and SAP is indeed proving its #1 spot. Read below.

eFax® Connector for SAP® Solutions Delivers Cloud-Based Faxing to ERP Environments

The new eFax Connector enables SAP-based corporate and enterprise customers to use eFax for high-volume application faxing
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- eFax® today announced its eFax Connector for SAP® Solutions, the first SAP fax connector in North America certified under SAP's new BC-SMTP requirements.  The certification underscores eFax's commitment to developing enterprise-focused solutions for corporate and SME environments and gives SAP customers the ability to use eFax for high-volume application faxing within the SAP environment.  eFax Corporate is a branded service of j2 Global Communications, Inc. (NasdaqGS: JCOM), and is online at www.efax.com.
The eFax Connector for SAP Solutions was developed to address  a primary need within corporate environments: to allow customers to send recurring documents via fax without the need for an internal fax server.  Choosing an SAP-certified outsourced solution such as eFax eliminates the need for additional hardware, software, or upgrade costs normally associated with fax server technology.
Along with the convenience of an integrated SAP faxing solution, additional benefits of the eFax Connector API include:
·          Easier installation and administration over the previous RFC interface
·          The use of eFax through a standard SMTP gateway
·          Direct faxing from SAPconnect
·          Improved data tracking
·          Compatibility with IETF standards

"Bringing an outsourced, high-volume faxing application solution to ERP environments is something our customers have asked us for, and now with the eFax Connector for SAP Solutions we're delivering on that request," said Mike Pugh, vice president, marketing for j2 Global Communications, Inc.  "The SAP integration fits right in line with a key objective of our recently announced eFax Next initiative – to work with leading technology providers such as SAP, HP, and others to bring a shift in the way companies think about and use fax."

  1. Long live SAP. Long live Oracle.
Given the marketplace today..I do not think we have a choice. They will be here for a long time.
(did you know the when you become a SAP customer, SAP expects you to be a customer for a least 20 years!). This is very different from the Microsoft model of 1 - 3 years.

  2. Wow 20 years! It shows SAP's robust infrastructure and updates. Microsoft make ERPs like Dynamics. We have used Great Plains and the application makes huge database within a short span as compared to Oracle and Indexing is SO badly done that it slows down the application and needs change in hardware within couple of years due to the database growth. Did not like Microsoft Dynamics at all. It is good for FRx Financial reporting with Crystal Reports, but bad as an ERP application. Microsoft needs to buckle up. Those Monopoly days are gone now.
